Memories | Central Coast Photographer
January 28, 2010I spent the better part of the day sorting through some of my very old backup discs of personal files. It took me longer that it should have because I kept stopping to look through old photos, even thought there is so much technically wrong with the photos, they made my heart sing. The joy of knowing that I will always have a record of events and every day happening, being able to look back and see the changes in the people I love…..it makes me smile. I use to be much better at taking photos just for the sake of taking photos, not worrying about how “perfect” the photo needed to be. I now have catalogued and backed-up these files, making my own personal vault of memories!
Going through these old images reminded me that recording the everday is just as import as recording the bigger events in life, this is something that I need to remind myself of often. Take photos often!! Photograph the every day, things like your kids getting ready, playing their favourite game, sports practice, arts and crafts. These daily happenings are just as important as the big events and they should be remembered!
My next goal, print more personal photos. Well actually just start printing them, get them into albums! I find this daunting because I take so many photos and it would take me forever to get them all in the album. What do you do with your photos, are they all stored on the computer, in albums, photobooks? I would love to know your ideas on how to best handle getting them printed.
